Phil is 48 years of age and lives in Trimdon Station, County Durham.
Phil has lived in the Sedgefield constituency all his life. His father worked down Fishburn colliery before closure. He was educated at Trimdon Secondary Modern and Sedgefield Comprehensive Schools and now his children attend school in Newton Aycliffe.
Phil’s first job was as a shop assistant and then as a clerical worker in the civil service where he was a lay-trade union official.
He has then been a researcher for both a Member of Parliament and a member of the European Parliament.
Before gaining extensive knowledge of working in the private sector and running his own Public Interest business, advising companies and organisations on their social responsibility and community engagement obligations.

Best man for the job for the Sedgefield consituency. You can't trust the Lib Dems and the Tory's have no local support at all. The fringe opposition will do nothing for us locally. You can count on my vote.
